Casey Richards

This was a drawing from Module 5: Landscapes and Natural Forms. On the 1st June I recreated an artwork by a master, using coloured pencils and ink.
Here is my rendition of Richard Wilson's "Croome Court, Worcestershire, 1758''. This was one of the artists that influenced me during our landscape week. I love the gentle, comfortable feeling of his art as well as the lush and healthy depiction of England's countryside. One of the most inspiring things I discovered about Richard Wilson is that he would paint the exact landscape from all different angles, continuously studying his subject. He has painted Croome Court in several ways, much like we did in the Botanic Gardens, finding different scenes to draw.
