Artist Statement
I wanted to create an artwork that speaks about the city and the people within
it. I was inspired by a short walk I took with my lecturer and fellow first
year students. There is no suggestion of life in this artwork which indicates
the feelings of displacement and loneliness I felt when I walked through the
city. The city is an overall reflection of the people that live in it.
The different sizes, shapes and conditions of buildings highlights the
individuality of the people, I tried to reflect this in this artwork.
